cyrus' history - grand ending route
In Steam Prison there are two notable locations: the Heights and the Depths. Cyrus is from the heights. There is a heavy political atmosphere there where delegates are chosen via succession in their family. It’s those people who make the laws in the Heights. Most laws are pretty normal except for one which is that loving someone other than their assigned marriage partner is a crime. Those who choose to love freely are exiled to the depths for committing the crime of unsanctioned love.
Cyrus grew up in a pretty normal family herself with a mom and dad as well as her servants. When she was a child she received a family heirloom which she almost lost but got it back when a police officer found it. It was that moment Cyrus decided to become an officer herself. At age 16 she took and passed the police officer’s exam. Between then and the beginning of the game Cyrus received her notice for who she was assigned to marry.
For the purposes of this app, Cyrus is being taken from the Grand Ending Route so the history is as follows:
When Cyrus takes and passes her Rank Two police officer exams with her partner Fin, they are sent to the Depths on an observation mission. There, unbeknownst to her, she meets Glissade Roselite who becomes very interested in her blood since she has a blood with no antigens in it. Golden blood. He wants her blood to complete his project of making a ‘perfect human’ based on body parts he likes from others.
As a result, he works with Warner Evans, one of the highest ranking people in the Heights to force Cyrus to come to the Depths. Warner decides that to do this, he’s going to have his son (who is Cyrus’ assigned wedding partner) murder Cyrus’ parents. Thankfully, in this route that effort is thwarted by Cyrus as she fends off Fitzgerald in a sword fight. Once his plan is revealed, Saint Yune, an immortal being that is worshipped in the Heights is aware of the corruption in the assembly and wishes to work with the Depths to create unity between the two locations.
Cyrus is sent to the Depths to find a delegate. She first meets Ines who believes that Eltcreed Valentine would be a good fit. Eltcreed then asks his friend Ulrik comes along. Then just in case they bring a doctor which they ask Adage to come along. This is the only route where all five of Cyrus’ potential romance partners communicate.
When she gets back, she’s met with opposition from the police and the lead politicians who try to kill her and the delegates in the process. In the end, with Fin’s help, they’re able to fight back against the corrupt police force and politicians and see this deal through to have communication with the Heights and the Depths. At the end, a few laws are changed, one of them being the abolishment of the marriage laws. People are now free to marry who they want. Cyrus receives exactly one proposal, which is left unsigned, so she assumed it to be a prank.
